About Community Acupuncture

In our clinic, acupuncture is given in a large, quiet, relaxing group treatment room in comfortable reclining chairs or on a massage table. Payment is on an affordable sliding scale, from $25-$50 for the first appointment and $15-40 for follow ups.

No income verification is ever required. You decide what you can afford.

Treating patients in a community setting has many benefits: it's easy for friends and family members to receive treatment together, it's often comforting to the patients, and the collective energetic field nurtures the entire group.

Why the sliding scale?

Thousands of years of tradition in Asia, as well as research in the United States, shows us that acupuncture is most effective when treatments are frequent and regular. By offering acupuncture at an affordable price, we are separating the issues of money and health, and patients are able to get the treatments that they need to get and stay healthy.

We understand that everyone’s situation is different and it can change from week to week. That is why YOU choose the amount you pay on the sliding scale at each treatment. We want acupuncture to help you and that is why we believe that affordable, regular treatments are necessary.

Community Acupuncture around the country

The founders Working Class Acupuncture have organized the principles of their clinic in Portland into a national movement. They launched the Community Acupuncture Network (CAN), a non-profit organization that seeks to promote the Community Acupuncture principles within the acupuncture profession. CCCA is a proud member of the Community Acupuncture Network. Now there are over 80 clinics around the country that follow this business model.
